This is not just a soundtrack to make the viewers of the Kubanacan novela feel nostalgic.
It is another side of Brazilian music heavily influenced by American and
Latin sounds. A thoroughly entertaining mix of romance and mambo.
Ivete Sangalo departs from her regular Axé fare to sing the romantic "Somente Eu e Você",
one of the highlights of this album.
American oldtimers will recognize "Como um Rio" as the Portuguese version of "Cry Me a River".
Vanessa Jackson improves upon the vintage Julie London version with an equally sultry
but less melodramatic voice.
The other adaptations of American classics are "Eu Só Me Ligo Em Você"
(I Get a Kick Out of You) and of course "Hit the Road Jack".

GREAT!
Kubanacan in an excellent soap, really funny and sometimes
emotional. The soundtracks are really cool and go with the
scene- I really like "Foi culpa da Lua". It's really nice
indeed!

Kubanacan my very first soundtrack!!
What do I have to say about kubanacan's soundtrack??
Humm... I absolutely LOVE it!! Really, it is really
fantastic! I was lucky because one friend gave it to me for
he knows I'm mad about the "novela" Kubanacan, my favourite
above all! But I was going to buy it myself! I listen to it
every day :) It reminds me of that paradisiac island,
breath taking characters such as Esteban (Marcos Pasquim)
and Enrico (Vladimir Brichta) and many others and of course
that genious sense of humour and romance that we know from
Carlos Lombardi's "novelas".
Even if you don't know Kubanacan, buy the album if you like
that old music from the 50's or just latin music.
Now that Kubanacan is over in Brazil and is almost over in
Portugal where I'm from, I feel really happy for having it!
I guess that Kubanacan's soundtrack is just like this story
of Kubanacan's island, like Esteban and Lola, like Dark and
Marisol, like Enrico and Rubi...
and like the first kiss in our lives... IT IS UNFORGETTABLE!
