Synopsis
Villa-Lobos prepares himself for a gala concert at the Municipal Theater where they are
paying tribute to him.
It is the last time the Maestro leaves the house.
During the concert, memories of his life are evoked that jump through time and space
and utilize music as the fundamental dramatic element.
In this emotional journey into the past, Villa-Lobos confronts the violence of his father,
the burden of his mother's sadness, the loss of affection with Lucília, his first wife,
the impossiblity of having children, the rejection of his art in a half cultural colony,
the failure and the loss of money, the sickness and the mutilation, the fear of
losing Mindinha his great love the abyss between the inspiration and the insanity.
Gradually, the personality defines itself in all its complexity: energetic and fragile,
simple and megalomaniacal, loving and egocentric, inspired and ingenius.
Villa-Lobos Uma Vida de Paixão narrates the story of an adventurous and intuitive
man who loves his land.
